Pantone TCX / TPG code index — 2,272 references, matched to PiHue dye codes

Every Pantone TCX / TPG textile reference, grouped by lightness tier (11 = lightest, 19 = darkest). Click any code to open the PiHue Pantone matcher pre-loaded with the top five nearest PiHue wool and viscose/silk dye codes for that colour, with CIEDE2000 ΔE match scores for every pair.

How Pantone TCX / TPG codes work: the first two digits are the lightness tier (11 lightest, 19 darkest). The last four digits are the colour family within that tier. For example, 14-4115 is a tier-14 (light to mid) blue called Cashmere Blue. This index lets you click any code to see our nearest in-house dye match, verified by physical lab dip before bulk production.

About the Pantone matcher

What's the difference between Pantone TCX and TPG?
TCX is the Textile Cotton eXtended palette — the physical cotton swatch used for actual dye matching in textile programmes. TPG is the Textile Paper Guide — a paper-printed version of the same colours for approximation. Both share the same code system (e.g., 14-4115 is Cashmere Blue in either). Our matcher accepts either reference.
How does the match work?
For every Pantone reference, we compute the perceptual colour distance (CIEDE2000 ΔE) to every one of our 1,400 wool and 1,000 viscose/silk shades, then return the top five of each. CIEDE2000 is the industry-standard formula used by Pantone itself and by textile dye laboratories — more accurate than the older CIE76 formula that most free tools use.
What does ΔE mean in practical terms?
ΔE < 2 is essentially identical to the human eye. ΔE 2–5 is close enough for most retail work. ΔE 5–10 is a visible shift that needs calling out at buyer approval. ΔE > 10 is a loose match — usually means the Pantone target sits outside our natural-fibre dye gamut (common with fluorescent neons and some screen-primary RGB colours).
Is this an official Pantone tool?
No. Pantone® is a registered trademark of Pantone LLC; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Pantone LLC. This matcher offers approximate equivalences between Pantone TCX/TPG references and PiHue dye codes for shortlisting purposes. Every programme closes with a physical lab dip confirmed against a Pantone physical swatch under D65 light, not with an on-screen approximation.
Can I search by Pantone name instead of code?
Yes. Use the search box on the Pantone matcher — it accepts code (14-4115), name (Cashmere Blue), or hex (#AEC4D4).
What about going the other way — from PiHue code to Pantone?
Use the colour library or the PiHue code index. Every PiHue code shows its nearest Pantone equivalent with the same CIEDE2000 ΔE score.
